About this site

This site is a free reference on the chemical elements and on high-purity materials. It combines an interactive periodic table covering all 118 elements with in-depth guides on the materials we know best: nickel wire, copper powder and lithium.

The element pages give atomic number, standard atomic weight, electron configuration, density, melting and boiling points, electronegativity, common oxidation states and the year of discovery. The material guides go one level deeper and explain what each purity grade — from 2N to 7N — actually means, which trace elements limit it and where it is used in practice.
